The meeting was staged to celebrate the successes and accomplishments of The Chamber during 2013 and honor our past Chair, Greg Gregerson. Under Greg's leadership, 181 local businesses joined The Chamber, 58 of which were new businesses! The evening was centered around a Batman-theme, acknowledging Greg as our very own vigilante, fighting against dormancy and being an active advocate for The Chamber throughout and beyond Etowah County. We are thankful for the leadership and support of such an active and influential member of Etowah County society.
The Chamber also bestowed the following honors in recognition of great dedication and advocacy for 2013:
The recipient of the "2013 Chairman's Award" as an advocate for commerce and a friend to local business:
The Gadsden Times
The recipient of the Bobby Austin "Community Improvement Award" for her achievements in building partnerships, connecting resources and putting the FUN in fundraising within our community:
Joanne Hightower
The recipient of the "Ambassador of the Year Award" for going above and beyond visiting Chamber members and attending ribbon cuttings but also taking a leadership role and working exceptionally hard to share the benefits and programs of The Chamber.
Deesha Wolfe
We are also proud to welcome our new Chairman for 2014:
Mr. Harry Mclendon
Harry is consistently referred to as "the nicest banker in town." We look forward to the insights and leadership of a man with 30 plus years of local influence and insight. We welcome Harry warmly and expect that he will serve The Chamber well in 2014!
