Keeping It Local With Local Joes!

This week we would like to shine The Chamber spotlight on our very own Jodie Stanfield and his business venture of his locally grown, owned, and operated restaurant and specialty store, Local Joe's Trading Post. After years of working in the food industry at restaurants like John's Downtown of Birmingham and TGIFridays, Jodie decided it was time to be true to his roots and establish a local business.

His goal was to provide his community with access to fresh local goods such as seasonal produce and his now famous pork rinds and smoked barbecue butts. After only 3 years in business, what is now Local Joe's has expanded to 6 smoked meats to make a sandwich for a sit down lunch at a picnic table or wrap up to take home. Local Joe's now also contains a bakery that opened earlier this year.

The bakery features delights such as cake balls, muffins, pies, fritters, cakes, and fresh baked breads. Jodie also takes pride in providing local wineries a chance to shine by keeping a generous stock of various wine labels exclusively from our great state of Alabama. Some local favorites that keep patrons coming back to Local Joe's include his homemade jarred pickles and his pork skins with a choice of three different seasonings. Jodie has also created his own signature barbecue sauce... so come on by and give local a try!

We especially appreciate Jodie's vision to keep business local and his dedication to The Chamber, Jodie's Chamber testimony is summarized as:
To those not involved with The Chamber, "You're just a fan if you're not on the field, so get involved, get in the game!" - Jodie Stanfield.
